Margaret Annette Saunders Hedgepath - died June 20, 2014. She was born March 29, 1937, at Camden, TN. Preceded in death by mother, Maggie Belle Hatley Saunders; father, Charles Pascal Saunders; sisters, Eva Nell Taylor, Alma Louise Thomas, and Blossom Sanders. Survived by husband, Richard Ray Hedgepath, Sr., sons, Richard Hedgepath, Jr. and Philip Hedgepath; grandchildren, Garrett Hedgepath and Maggie Hedgepath; sister, Naomi Edwards. Annette was a graduate of Peabody College where she starred in several stage plays with the Peabody Players and later with Theater Nashville, and a graduate of Cohn High School, where she also performed in numerous plays beginning in 9th grade. She was a member of the National Forensic League and her senior year, won the championship for the state of Tennessee in Dramatic Interpretation and Poetry Interpretation. In 1955, she competed in the national contest in San Jose, California, in Dramatic Interpretation. Also in 1955, Annette was a finalist in the Miss Nashville Beauty Contest. She taught in the Nashville Public School system for 32 years, as well as teaching Sunday School at Park Avenue Park Avenue Baptist Church for over 20 years, where she has been a member for 68 years. She was a very generous person, especially to those in need. The family expresses special thanks to the care provided by Alive Hospice and Dr. Joshua Smithson and his wonderful staff. Thanks for all the visits and prayers from friends. Annette died from complications of Alzheimer's Disease. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity. The Life Celebration service will be on Monday, June 23, 2014, at 12pm at West Harpeth Funeral Home with Brother David Werner officiating. Interment will be at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-4pm, and on Monday from 11am until the service hour at WEST HARPETH FUNERAL HOME, 6962 Charlotte Pike; 352-9400
