Audree Jean Harris passed away peacefully on June 14, 2014 at the age of 71. She graduated from Cocke County High School in 1961 and Vanderbilt School of Radiology in June 1964. Jean married her loving husband, James Carl Harris in 1966. She was a dedicated employee of Radiology Alliance - Associates for over 42 years. When Jean began her career as a Radiology Technician, she worked alongside 5 doctors. The staff grew to over 50 physicians and multiple support staff. Jean considered it an honor to serve with such a caring people.
In addition to her career, she served for over fifteen years with the Nashville Dog Training Club as a Board Member and volunteered until the birth of her daughter, Samantha in 1975. At this time, she and her husband focused all of their attention on being involved with Samantha's school activities and softball. She was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter and sister. She will be fondly remembered as enjoying time with her family and being a great cook.
James has devoted the last few years taking care of Jean as her health continued to decline. It was during this time that his expression of love needed no words.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents Geneva Jean and Clarence Jackson Ray, her sister Susan Yvonne Ray, her in laws Mary Jane and Ira Conrad Harris. Jean is survived by her husband of 47 years James Carl Harris, her daughter Dr. Samantha Harris, sisters Jackie Dockery (Neil) and Kathy Sorrell (Gary) and in laws Sandra and Harley Hickox. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Northport Baptist Church, Friday, June 20th, at 5:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made Appalachian Outreach at 190 West Old Andrew Johnson Highway, Jefferson City, Tennessee 37760.
