Barbara Gail Hudson, 65 of Nashville TN, passed away on September 20, 2021 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Barbara was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her life has been and will continue to be a blessing and inspiration for many. Barbara brought endless love, laughter, and grace into the world. She was an inspiration and source of joy for many. Her life is a beautiful reminder of the importance of showing compassion, grace and love to everyone.
As a God fearing woman of many talents, Barbara used her gifts to help others and share God’s word. She volunteered much of her time to the Children’s ministry at New Beginnings Church and was often found teaching Sunday School, planning for Vacation Bible School and Church camp.
When she was not volunteering at the church, she could be found driving her school bus route where every day she positively impacted the lives of children. She is remembered as a hard worker, a loyal friend, and full of laughter.
Barbara’s pride was in her family, having married her high school sweetheart of 46 years Charlie Hudson. They raised two sons, Josh and Jason (Shannon) Hudson and were blessed with four grandchildren Lucas, Rylee, Morgan and Aaron. She also helped raise her godchild Destiny Page. She is also survived by her parents IP and Judy Connor, sister Pam (David) Hice, niece Dava (Rhett) Butler, Nephew Joeby Hice, great nephew Gavin and great nieces Layla and Skyla.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday September 24, 2021 at West Harpeth Funeral Home with Dan Shapley, Jack Davis, Lee Woodward, and Azariah Anderson officiating. Burial to follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. & on Friday prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at West Harpeth Funeral Home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to New Beginnings Church Camp.
