Betty Jane McHugh - age 86 of Hendersonville, TN, passed away December 4, 2017. Mrs. McHugh was born on December 27, 1930 in Columbia, TN.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Thomas McHugh.

Survived by her daughters, Vicki Augustine, Pam Butler (Larry); son, Tom McHugh, Jr. (Karen); Mary Ellen Lawrence(Mark); brother, Fred Hammond (Judy); grandchildren, Raymond Augustine, John Augustine, Holly Kemper(James); Ken Lawrence(Janae); Aaron Lawrence(Stephanie), April Burress (Teddy), Lori Beth Ramey (Eric); Josh Baker(Wendy); Michael Butler(Kayce); Jay Baker(Sabrina), Anna Sands (Matt), Amy Baker; Christian McHugh(Tina); and Patrick McHugh. She has 33 great grandchildren and 5 great-great-grand- children.

Mrs. McHugh meet the love of her life, Thomas at Fort Sam Houston in 1939 were they both served in the U.S. Army. She was certificated nursing technician for many years. At the age of 50 she went back to college and obtained a degree in Medical Records (Certified ART), were she worked until retirement. Upon retirement Mr. and Mrs. McHugh took up a love for Atlanta Braves baseball and the Tennessee Titans football.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at West Harpeth Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Middle TN Veterans Cemetery. Grandson's will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. and on Thursday prior to the service from 10:30 a.m. until service time at 11:30 a.m. at West Harpeth Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or The Wounded Warriors Project.
