Betty Carver

Betty Ruth McGrady Carver, 89, entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 29, 2023. She was born in West Nashville on June 17, 1933, to the late John and Merle Wallace McGrady. She was a graduate of Cohn High School. She married Oscar Lee Carver, of Nashville, in 1951. They were happily married for 72 years. Betty was a devoted member of Charlotte Heights Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing and was a gifted homemaker. Betty enjoyed camping, hiking, and traveling with her family. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her son, Richard Carver; and her brothers.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Oscar Lee Carver; daughter, Judy (Aaron) Holt; grandchildren, Lee Carver, Alex (Sybil) Holt, and Mary (Dylan) Clark; great-grandchildren, Olivia Holt and Wash Clark; sister, Inez Jackson; and a host of extended family members and beloved friends.

The family will receive friends from 11:00AM until 1:00PM on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Charlotte Heights Church of Christ located at 6833 Old Charlotte Pike in Nashville. A Celebration of Life for Betty will begin at 1:00PM. Following the service, Betty will be laid to rest in the Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
