Carol Menuez Barach, 83, died peacefully in her sleep, with her devoted little dog at her side, Thursday November 8, in the home she shared with her high school sweetheart and husband of 61 years, John Paul Barach. As well as her husband, she is survived by her two children, Andrea Barach Schine and David Barach (Tracy), four grandchildren Miriam Schine Lee (Jonathan), Nathan Schine (Rachel), Max Barach, Ada Barach, and one great grandson, Elliot Lee.
She was born in New York, NY, and attended Friends Seminary High School where she met and fell in love with her husband to be, whom she married two days after her graduation from Vassar College. Her husband's career brought them to Nashville in 1961, and once her children were in school, she returned to graduate school for a Masters in Speech Pathology from Bill Wilkerson Center. She was an instructor of speech pathology for many years at Tennessee State University, and then in private practice with Molly Lynch & Associates. After retirement, she was an active volunteer with CASA of Nashville, assisting youth in times of family crisis.
Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to CASA of Nashville, Second Harvest Food Bank, or the charity of one's choice.
