Carolyn Marie Drake Snider. Age 70, March 20, 1947 - June 11, 2017. She is survived by her husband, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Larry Snider of Melbourne, FL; children Nancy (Hans) Stabell and Gus A. Wood IV "Tad" (Ann) Wood of Nashville, Tennessee as well as her stepdaughter Annemarie (Scott) Flodin of Minneapolis, MN; sister, Nancy Drake Donelson of Nashville, and nephews, Stokely, David, and Daniel Donelson of Nashville. Her grandchildren were the light of her life: Anders Stabell, Windsor Wood and Gus A. Wood V, all of Nashville. She is also survived by her brother, David Drake, of Chattanooga and is preceded in death by her parents Carl A. Drake Jr. and Ruth Pittman Drake of Chattanooga and her former husband Gus A. Wood III of Chattanooga and Nashville, TN.

Carolyn is a graduate of Girls Preparatory School in Chattanooga, TN, Emory University, and Vanderbilt University where she obtained her masters in nursing. Carolyn owned and operated HopeHealth, a family practice clinic on Thompson Lane in Nashville, for many years. She was beloved by her patients to whom she brought great empathy, comfort and humor.

Carolyn and her husband Larry were such avid travelers who circled the globe many times over, such that her grandchildren nicknamed her "GoGo". She and Larry enjoyed spending their free time at their second home in Melbourne, Florida. However nothing brought her more joy than spending summers at the pool chasing her grandchildren.

For 3 1/2 years, Carolyn waged a valiant battle against breast cancer resolving to "never ever ever give up". She taught us all volumes about living life fearlessly, fiercely, and faithfully.

The funeral will be held at St. George's Episcopal Church, 4715 Harding Pike, Nashville from at 1:30pm on Thursday, June 15th, with Rev. Dr. Kristine Blaess officiating. The family will receive visitors from 12:00-1:30pm prior to the service. There will be a private family internment immediately following the funeral.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203.
