Charles Clark Fowler, Jr. 68 passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 27, 2013. He was surrounded by the family, of which he was most proud and did everything he could to make their dreams a reality. Born in Nashville in 1944 he graduated from Battle Ground Academy. He played football for both Auburn University and the University of Houston and professionally with the Miami Dolphins. He was the co-owner of Fowler Lumber Company in Gallatin, TN. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood-working, gardening and most of all his family and friends. Proceeded in death by his parents Charles and Mildred Fowler and his sister, Mary Love Carter. Survived by his beloved high school sweetheart and wife of 49 years, Anne Price McLean Fowler; his brother William Hayes Katrina Fowler; his three children Mary Brittain Doug Hoffman, Charles Clark AnneFowler, III; Price McLean Kara Fowler, Sr. and eight grandchildren Lauren Anne Fowler, Emma Lewis Hoffman, Madeline Stuart Hoffman, Allison Price Fowler, Molly McLean Fowler, Suzanne McKinley Fowler, Price McLean Fowler, Jr. and Patterson Hunt Fowler as well as his large extended family in Tennessee and Kentucky. Visitation will be held at Hendersonville Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the graveside on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers: Alvin Ford, John Jewel III, Butch Snider, Ivan Pedigo, Thomas Murrell, John Luby, David Greer, William Dickens. Honorary Pallbearers are the employees of Fowler Lumber Company. Officiating the service will be Reverend Teddy Ray. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alive Hospice of Nashville, 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203 or Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2313 Alexandria Drive, Lexington, Kentucky 40504. Charlie was loved by so many for his kindness, generosity, gentleness and fun- loving spirit.
