Mr. David C. Bratten - Age 57, of West Nashville, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016, at Kindred Hospital in Bordeaux.

David was the youngest son of the late John R. & Joyce Malone Bratten. David was a very outgoing child and loved being the center of attention. He enjoyed trying to outwit his older brothers, John R. Bratten, Jr. and Stephen Lee Bratten, which kept them on their toes.

He graduated from North High School in 1977. When his mother became ill, he began taking care of her but still was able to work part time at grocery stores. In 1984, David met Ruth Gorman. Later that year, they were married. They bought a house in West Nashville and were very happy until her passing in 2015.

David is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, John R. Bratten, Jr; his nephew, Scotty Bratten. He is survived by his brother, Steve (Sue) Bratten; and a host of extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at 12:30pm, at West Harpeth Funeral Home with interment to follow in historic Springhill Cemetery.

Visitation with the Bratten family will be on Friday from 3:00pm until 8:00pm, and on Saturday one hour prior to the service at West Harpeth Funeral Home, 6962 Charlotte Pike
