David Wells Lockyear, 46, of Nashville, TN born on October 20, 1970 and died on February 10, 2017.

He graduated high school from Montgomery Bell Academy and received his paramedic's degree from Vol State.

David was a man who had a heart for helping others. He worked as a paramedic for Metro Nashville, served his country and countrymen as a medic with the Marine group India Company during the Iraq War, and was a loyal son, brother, uncle, and friend.

He is survived by his parents, Gene and Shayron Lockyear; sister, Gina Russell (Emmett); nieces, Sabrina and Ruby Mae Russell; nephew, Hawkins Russell, and uncle, Paul McLemore.

Visitation will occur at the West Harpeth Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 14, 2017, from 10:00am until 12:30pm.

A graveside service at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on McCrory Lane will follow at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation made to Nashville Humane Association or the charity of your choice.
