Donald Sawyer Main

Donald Sawyer Main of Nashville, TN passed away on February 10, 2025 at the age of 59. He was born on November 7, 1965 to Walter and Gayle Main. He grew up in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, the 4th of 5 children and leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Valerie Main and son Ryan Main, brothers David and Scott Main and sisters Linda Main and Julie (Tim) Dryden, nieces Samantha and Graisen Kniss, nephews Jeff Main and Michael Odonnell and father-in-law Ewald Wrobleski. He was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church where he was deeply involved in the Youth Group which had a lasting effect on his life and love for music and the piano. He was a 1983 graduate of East Longmeadow High School where he received early culinary training. His culinary career spanned over 40 years beginning at the Willow Glenn House where he met his wife of 31 years and concluding with 25 years of service as Chef of The Tin Angel. Being inspired by his mom, brothers and friends, Donald began to pursue music, playing piano, singing, writing and recording original songs culminating in three albums. From 1988 – 1993 he was a founding member of the beloved club band The Saints, which fostered many life-long friendships. Donald was a lover of people and many people loved him. He loved to laugh and wouldn’t stop until he made you laugh too. He was a dedicated husband and father. He was a skilled home renovator and loved to fish with his son. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Sharon Wrobleski. Donald will be missed by all of those whose lives he so deeply touched.

Visitation will be on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 11:00AM until 1:00PM at West Harpeth Funeral Home located at 6962 Charlotte Pike in Nashville. A Celebration of Donald's Life will begin at 1:00PM in the Chapel at West Harpeth.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Red Cross in Donald’s honor.
