Donald Ray Reed

Dr. Donald Ray Reed, DDS, passed away on November 6, 2024. He was born in Oklahoma City, OK on July 24, 1931, to the late Ralph and Gertrude Dixson Reed. He graduated from West End High School. Don attended Clemson Military School and Vanderbilt University. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Following his Naval discharge, Dr. Reed attended and graduated UT Dental School in Memphis. He practiced dentistry for many years in Green Hills.

Dr. Reed is survived by his wife, Wanda Reed; children, Diana (Ken) McCabe, and Steven (Nina) Reed; and stepdaughter, Vickie (Les) Songer. Together, Don and Wanda have 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Nan Reed, and stepson, Jeff Vick.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 12:00PM until 1:00PM at West Harpeth Funeral Home located at 6962 Charlotte Pike. Services for Dr. Reed will begin at 1:00PM in the Chapel at West Harpeth. Following the service, Dr. Reed will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
