Doris Mimms

Mrs. Doris Smith Mimms, age 83, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014.

She retired as a Supervisor from the Metro Police School Patrol after 33+ years of dedicated service and was a member of the West Nashville Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Mimms is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Bessie Smith; husband, James (Pig) Mimms; son, Eddie Mimms; sisters, Marjorie Marable; brothers, Sonny Smith, Pete Smith, and Cordell Smith. She is survived by her loving children, Randy (Beverly) Mimms and Tina (Dickie) Martin; grandchildren, Suzetta Mimms, Dusty Hagood, Misty Johnston, Tommy Mimms, Jennifer Wade, April Hogan, Amanda Martin, Randall Mimms, Jr., Ricky Martin, Chelsa and Courtnie Mimms; 14 great grandchildren, and a special niece, Doris Baker.

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 28th at West Harpeth Funeral Home, 6962 Charlotte Pike, Nashville, TN from 12- 8 p.m. and Sunday, 1-6 p.m.
Funeral services will be at West Nashville Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 6849 Charlotte Pike, Monday at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to service time. Interment will following at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers with Bro. Ricky Page officiating.
