Magness, Dorothy Kathleen Sullivan. Asleep with the angels on Sunday, December 27, 2015. Beloved wife of the late James Magness. Dear mother of Konrad Magness, Eric (Carmen) Magness, Lisa Magness and Susan (Abe) Cheij. Dearest Grandmother of Nichole, Matthew, Evan, Katie, Isabel and Jessica. Great-grandmother of Aileigh, Jaxon and Emrys. Dearest daughter of the late Vella Mae & Herbert Sullivan. Sister of Herbert "Bud" and the late Marion Sullivan. Our dear aunt, cousin and friend.
Kathleen was born on June 23, 1923 in McMinnville, TN. She graduated from Peabody College in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She married her college sweetheart, James Edward Magness, in 1951. She worked at the Tennessean Newspaper before becoming a homemaker and raising her family. She was a member of the Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, McMinnville, TN, Chapter 349, for over fifty years and a past member of the Nashville Ballet Society. Kathleen will be remembered as a kind, gentle, patient, good-humored, hardworking mother who encouraged her family to pursue their goals and their own unique individuality in the arts and academics.

Visitation with family will be Saturday, January 2, 2015, from 9-11 a.m. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00am. A private family internment at Morrison Cemetery in Morrison, TN to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimers Association would be appreciated.
