Dorothy Beata (Kolar) Rudnicki, 95, died peacefully on August 25, in Nashville TN.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Edmund Robert "Tex" Rudnicke, II (Sue) of Nashville, TN; grandson, Brian Rudnicke (Tinah) and great-grandson, Ethan of Rantoul, IL; granddaughter Julie Benigno (Matt) and great-grandson Max, of Chicago, IL, and their mother, Judy Rudnicke of Danville, IL; grandson Paul Rudnicke (Stefanie) and great-grandchildren Hannah, Will and Adam Rudnicke of Winston Salem, NC; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Harms (Tim) and great-gradchildren Abigail, Noah, and A. P. Harms, of Nashville, TN.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edmund Robert Rudnicki, and son, Michael Frank Rudnicke, of Danville, IL. Daughter-in-law, Cheryl, of Nashville, TN survives.

Dorothy was born on Nov. 25, 1919 in Chicago, IL to Frank and Ella Kolar. She graduated from the University of Illinois in 1941 with a degree in Journalism. While at the U of I, she was a member of a national swimming honorary, Major Terrapin, and in 1995 was presented, along with other U of I women athletes, with a belated U of I letter in swimming. Dorothy taught 5th/6th grade social studies for 19 years in Danville, IL. She and her husband, "Eddie," met in a dance pavilion and for many years they enjoyed dancing with the big band music of their time, as well as golf and travel. She was an avid reader and loved singing bass with the Sweet Adelines Chorus in Danville, IL for more than 20 years. Dorothy came to faith in Jesus Christ at the age of 76, faithfully attending Second Church of Christ in Danville, IL, and then Covenant Presbyterian Church in Nashville, TN.

A memorial service will be held at a later time in Danville, IL with burial in Sunset Memorial Park, also in Danville. Memorials may be made in Dorothy's name to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 33 Burton Hills Blvd, Nashville, TN, 37215.
