Douglas Michael Townes, age 46, died May 3, 2017. He was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Townes, and his grandparents, Ralph and Ursa Worthy and Maxine Seat. He is survived by his mother, Peggy Townes; his sisters, Edyie Stallings and Elaine Jay (Ty); nephew, James Haas; nieces, Crystal McGee and LeeAnn Haas; great-niece, RaeLee Young; great aunt, Edyth Ann Worthy; uncles Ned Luther, Algie Seat and Greg Seat; cousins, Meg Smath (Richard), Daniel Luther, and Joey Smath; Andrew Seat, Kate Seat, and Kara Ferree (Matt) and many friends.
He attended Southwood High School in Shreveport, LA and Hillwood High School, Nashville. He was employed as a plumber with The Comfort Group. Doug found the most joy in helping others.
Visitation will take place at Belle Meade United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 13 from 11 am until the memorial service at 1:00 pm.
