Effie Lydia "Sis" Watts Age- 93, passed away June 17, 2019 in Nashville, TN.

Mrs. Watts is preceded in death by her husband, James Walton Watts and son, Carl Watts.

Survived by her children, Mickey Watts (Sandra), Linda Connelly (Carl), Betty Watts, Kenny Watts (Lisa), Tina Morehead (Charles); grandchildren, Leslie Scoutten (John), Gabe Watts (Michelle), David Ford, Becky Ford, Mary Beth Hagan (Mike), Keith Odom, Jennifer Watts, Jason Watts (Mandy), Nathan Watts (Alisha), Jeremy Watts, Kristyn Wilson (Michael), Katie Telford (Dustin); 20 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Effie "Sis" was born on September 25, 1925 in Benld, Illinois to Jasper and Nora Bell (Sexton) Rasure. Upon graduating high school she moved to California to support the war effort by building airplanes, as a "Rosie Rivetor". It was here that she met the love of her life James "Speedy" Watts and in November of 1944 they married in Oxnard, California. Shortly after they moved to Tennessee.

She served as Sunday School Teacher, piano player, church secretary, GA Leader in several Baptist Churches and was currently a member of Bellevue Baptist Church.

Her interest included reading, sewing, and cooking but the most important thing to her was being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Watts was a devoted Christian and welcomed the opportunity to witness for her Lord Jesus Christ.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2019 at West Harpeth Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Shelton and Rev. Carl Connelly officiating. Burial to follow at Middle TN Veterans Cemetery. Pallbearers include, Gabe Watts, John Scoutten, David Ford, Mike Hagan, Keith Odom, Jason Watts, Nathan Watts, Jeremy Watts, Michael Wilson, and Dustin Telford.

Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. prior to the service at West Harpeth Funeral Home.
