Elizabeth Lee Huang, of Nashville, passed away on July 16, 2022, at the age of 82. She was born in Bangkok, Thailand, on June 15, 1940 to the late Tai Ming Lee and Shau King Ho. Elizabeth was a Christian of the Presbyterian faith, and enjoyed cooking, tending her garden, and helping patients through her job as an interpreter for Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the Tennessee Language Center. She was a gifted pianist who left home at 16 to travel the world, before immigrating to the United States to further her musical education. She worked in public radio at WPLN while raising her family in Nashville, then used her gift in languages to begin a new career as an interpreter in retirement. She will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Manas (Peter) Thavikulwat.
Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Tricia Pil and Cynthia Huang-Pollock; son, Mark Huang; grandchildren, Ellen Pil, Karl Pil, Eris Pil, Clara Pollock, Tessa Pollock, and Hazel Pollock; and siblings, Yongyut (Paul) Thavikulwat, Somsak (John) Thavikulwat, Chusri (Esther) Thavikulwat, and Precha (Joe) Thavikulwat.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM CT at West Harpeth Funeral Home located at 6962 Charlotte Pike in Nashville. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM CT.
