Emmett Lee Evans, Jr. (Papaw) went home to be with Jesus on January 6, 2017, after losing his battle with leukemia. Emmett leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years, Agnes Jennette Evans; four children, Johnny Evans, Terry (David) Blackwell, Patty (Walt) Downey, DeWayne (Cindy) Evans; ten grandchildren, Robbie Evans, Rachel Morris, Josh Evans, Evan (Barbera) Blackwell, Emily Blackwell, Jacob (kayla) Downey, Katie Downey, DeWayne (Amanda) Evans, Ashley Evans, and a granddaughter, Danielle who went home to Jesus one year ago; eight great grandchildren. Emmett was a member of First Baptist of Pegram and was blessed to have many wonderful friends. The family would like to extend thanks and gratitude to TN Oncology, Sarah Cannon, and Alive Hospice, to which donations may be made in Emmett's name. Pallbearers will be all of Emmett's grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be John Ed Jennette, Walt Downey, David Blackwell, Mark Carothers, Jim Fulford, Gearld Wilder, Joe Gugliotta, J.T. Reinhart. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm and Wednesday from 10:00am until the service time at 12:00pm at West Harpeth Funeral Home, 6962 Charlotte Pike, Nashville.
