Lt. Col. (ret) Estle "Mac" McCool, age 95, joined his Savior in Heaven on June 26, 2016 . He was born December 28, 1920 and was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Patricia Fuller McCool, and his son John Wayne McCool. He is survived by his children: Diane (Gary) Gober of Nashville, Linda (Billy) Cox of Christiana, Joyce McKnight of Adena, OH, Mary Jane (Dale) Neese of Helotes, TX, Jean (Earl) Taylor of Glen St. Mary, FL, and James Paul (Daphne) McCool of Mt. Juliet; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. He and his family were a fixture in West Nashville residing at 4411 Utah in Sylvan Park for over 70 years. Mac served in WWII and remained in service to his country in the Army reserve where he retired as Lt. Colonel in 1980. He was an ordained deacon and lived a life of service to God and his churches Park Avenue Baptist, Haywood Hills Baptist, West Nashville Cumberland Presbyterian and Calvary Baptist. He enjoyed serving on disaster relief teams from church responding to hurricanes, tornados, fires and floods. He and his wife Pat enjoyed camping and travelled the world after retirement. A quiet and humble man, he was liked and respected by all who knew him. Visitation will take place on Tuesday June 28 from 5 pm until 8 pm at West Harpeth Funeral Home, 6962 Charlotte Pike, Nashville, TN. Private graveside service with military honors will be held in Portland, TN. In lieu of flowers, please see the following for donations:
