FRANCES DOZIER- Age 92 years, passed away May 6, 2014. Mrs. Dozier was an active member and officer in the Bellevue Women's Club. She was elected three times as a Democratic Committee Woman, and a member of Bellevue Church of Christ for many years. Mrs. Dozier excelled in motherhood, and grand motherhood, being a faithful wife of 62 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Norman "Buck" Dozier, Sr.; great grandson, Christopher Dozier. Survived by children, Norman "Buck" (Sandra) Dozier, Jr., Bob (Connie) Dozier, Steve (Angel) Dozier, and Pam (Skip) Slaton; grandchildren, Sean (Rebekah) Dozier, Shannon (Gregory) Huffine, David Dozier, Michael Dozier, Andy Dozier, Aimee Ausbrooks, Tiffany Dozier, Christy Dozier, and Jennifer Dozier; great grandchildren, Allie, Anna, Graham, Greer, Shelby, Jacob, Miranda, Emma, Emily, Blake, Cassidy, Haley, MaKayla, Jeremy, and Leah; sister, Betty Ann Howard. The funeral service will be Saturday, May 10, 2014, at 10 am, at West Harpeth Funeral Home with William Speight, Marlin Connelly, and Sean Dozier officiating. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Sean, David, Michael, and Andy Dozier, Gregory Huffine, and Larry Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be Skip Slaton, Lewis Moore, Ned Solomon, Col. Bill Britt, Dick Rhodes, Dr. Paul Barnett, Dr. Howard Kirshner, Dr. Ben Rowan, Paul Moran, Van Parrish, Forrest Slade, George Rooker, Hot Kestner, and John Hunter. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and caregivers of Vanco Manor Nursing Home and Rehabilitation and the extended caregivers at her home. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-8pm, and on Saturday from 9am until the service hour at WEST HARPETH FUNERAL HOME, 6962 Charlotte Pike; 352-9400.
