Gerald Dickson

Dickson, G. Orion - Age 92, passed away at his home February 15, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Betty; daughter, Madeline Rick Stillman; son, Pete wife, Daryl Dickson; seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. Born in Barnesville, Ohio in 1920, he was a US Army WWII Veteran, an active Mason for 70 years and a longtime and proud member of the Al Menah Shrine Temple Legion of Honor. He was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church of Hendersonville. Orion and Betty owned and operated Haynes Travel Agency in Detroit, Michigan for 25 years and travelled the world extensively before returning to Hendersonville to retire in 1990. They were a Finalist for the 2006 Mary Catherine Strobel Award for their work with the Hendersonville Literacy Council. They moved to Park Place Retirement Community in 2009. Visitation will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home, Tuesday, February 19th from 2-8 PM with Masonic Service at 6PM, funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11AM. He will be entombed at Spring Hill Cemetery.
