Gerald Dison

November 4, 1946 — May 17, 2022

Gerald "Chigger" Dison, age 75, passed away on May 17, 2022.

"Chigger" was born in West Nashville on November 4, 1946. He was raised in the Nations and he graduated from Cohn High School in 1964.
Chigger was retired from Ford Glass Plant where he retained lifelong friendships with many of his coworkers.  In his own personal time Chigger enjoyed playing golf, a love that he passed down to his son, Jeremy. His greatest accomplishments in his life revolved around the love he had for his children and grandchildren. He was affectionately known as "Pappy." His favorite past time was traveling all over to cheer on his grandchildren in their various extracurricular activities. He found his greatest joy from being on the sidelines cheering for his grandchildren, as well as, their teammates. He was their biggest fan and most loyal supporter. His legacy will be that he always made the time to be there and to be present in all the special moments in their lives. His laugh was contagious and he loved to laugh at his own jokes. He never complained, even after his health declined. He was loved by so many and will be missed greatly.

Gerald is proceeded in death by his parents; Ezell and Gladys Dison, along with his brother; Barry Dison. He is survived by his loving children; Jeremy Dison, Julie (Lee) Marbet, and Jennifer (Chad) Dixon. Gerald leaves his legacy behind in all his grandchildren; Jackson Marbet, Ellie Marbet, Ava Marbet, Andrew Dixon, and Molly Kate Dixon. He is also survived by his sister Pam (Ed) White along with his nieces Brande White, Jessica Lamb, Jami May and his two nephews Jon White and Kevin Dison.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to all the assisted living staff at NHC the Trace. They would like to also extend a special thank you to his NHC family  Shelly Garcia, Debbie Huntzinger, Tina Allsbrooks, Sara Bennett, Walter Espejo, Jackie Fleming, Samantha Cawley, and Autumn Hargrove for going above and beyond to make Chigger feels so loved and completely cared for at all times.
