Gladys Ashburn

Gladys Ashburn, 98, of Nashville, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023. She was born on May 21, 1925, in Hickman, TN, to the late Earl and Drucilla Ligon Nixon. She enjoyed taking care of babies and camping in the mountains with her husband, Ernest. She loved God and attended Immanuel Church of the Nazarene. Above all, Gladys enjoyed spending time at home with her family and sitting on her front porch.

In addition to his parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Ernest; son, Ronald Wayne Ashburn, and daughters, Linda Diane Harden and Deborah Kay Smith.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Dorinda Ashburn; sons-in-law, Harlan Smith and Donny Bradley; grandchildren, Scott Harden, Cindi (Joshua) Miller, Laurie Lunsford, and Derek (Alex) Brown; great-grandchildren, Ariel Harden, Nathen Lunsford, Jacob Lunsford, Celina Miller, Natalie Lunsford, and Diana Miller; and a host of extended family members and beloved friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from 2:00PM until 8:00PM at West Harpeth Funeral Home located at 6962 Charlotte Pike in Nashville. Additional Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 9:00AM until 11:00AM at the Funeral Home. Services will begin at 11:00AM on Thursday. Following the service, Gladys will be laid to rest in the Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
