Harold Jake Schrader, 89, passed away peacefully at home on October 21, 2021. Born on September 12, 1932, he was the son of the late Albert L. and Odessa Schrader. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Terwilliger and Elizabeth Fisher, and his brother, Albert Schrader, Jr.
Mr. Schrader is survived by his precious wife of 57 years, Carolyn Hodge Schrader; daughter Leigh Ann (Pat) Hardie; son David Schrader; and grandchildren Sophie Schrader, Ellis Hardie, Isabelle Schrader, Cade Hardie, and Marcus Hardie. They will deeply miss this faithful, kind, selfless, and truly original man.
A West Nashville native, Mr. Schrader raised pigs as a boy and was a graduate of Bellevue High School and Middle Tennessee State College. He served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in France. Throughout his career in sales he was employed by Castner Knott, Neuhoff Packing Company, C.B Ragland, Nashville Meats, Pacesetter, and American Home Design. He was a longtime member of the West End and Granny White Churches of Christ.
Visitation with the family will be held at West Harpeth Funeral Home, 6962 Charlotte Pike, Nashville at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 26. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 officiated by David Buffington. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
