Helen Louise Powers Chamberlain - Age 91, beloved mother and grandmother was ushered into heaven on October 18, 2017. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Claude; and her son, Carl Chamberlain; sisters, Willie Mae Myers, Gladys Dison, and Ella Powers.

She is survived by her son, Gary Chamberlain (Caroline); grandchildren, Austin (Lyndsey) Chamberlain, and Audrey Chamberlain (Dwayne Bratton) and step grandson, Benjamin Skelton; great grandchildren, Avery, Kaelyn and Jordan Bratton.

Helen was born on November 16, 2017, in Athens, Alabama to William Hoyt Powers and Ruth Ann Lewis Powers.

Her sisters included Willie Mae Myers, Gladys Dison and Ella Powers, as well as her half sisters, Lacy Putman, Lydia Putman, and Clara Spencer.

Helen was married for over 50 years to Claude Lee Chamberlain. She had two sons, Carl and Gary.

Her family has been her greatest joy in life, She often talked about the fun she had serving as a room mother when her boys were in school. She also enjoyed the friends they would bring home.

Her grandchildren and her great grandchildren were the center of her life after her sons grew into adulthood.

She was great loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be on Friday from 9:30am until 11:30am at West Harpeth Funeral Home. A Graveside service will follow at 12:00pm, at Woodlawn Memorial Park. John Temple will officiate the service.
