Homer M. Coggin- Age 84, passed from this life on Thursday, February 26, 2015. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War and received his graduate degrees from MTSU. Mr. Coggin was a retired teacher with Metro Schools and was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lula Bell and Homer M. Coggin, Sr.; sister, Christine Walker. Survived by wife of 54 years, Helen Pratt Coggin; sons, Michael H. (Gina) Coggin, and Derrick B. Coggin; grandchildren, LeAnna, Jonathan, Ryan, Matthew, and Lauren Coggin; great grandchild, Ciara Jackson, and a host of extended family members and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 2, 2015, at 1pm, at West Harpeth Funeral Home with Reverend Sherry Cothran officiating. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Larry Walker, Steve Walker, David Thompson, Ben Walker, Rex Perry and Johnny Veach. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Thompson, Richard Pratt, David Walker, Charles Brandon, Tom Ramsey, John Lifsey, Royce Dunham, Tony Lancaster, Bob Belew and Scott Jones.
