James Allen DeMoss, affectionately known as "Goody," passed away on January 28, 2025. Jim was born October 19, 1932. He is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Zora Tate DeMoss, parents, Clarence and Mary Stephens DeMoss, and brother Ensign Harold Patrick DeMoss.
Jim grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, and graduated from David Lipscomb High School. He had a deep love for his family and cherished spending time with them. His passions included riding and raising horses, fishing, and enjoying the serene beauty of Kentucky Lake. In his retirement years, Jim found joy in gardening and restoring old tractors, hobbies that reflected his appreciation for hard work and the simple pleasures of life.
He is survived by his daughter, Judy DeMoss Ivey (Jim), and his son, James Larry DeMoss (Susan). He was a proud grandfather to Stephanie Dickerson (Chad), April DeMoss, Lindsay Singer (Mickey), Meredith Corey Ivey (Chip), and Katherine Ivey. Jim also leaves behind 14 beloved great-grandchildren: Hannah, Wyatt, Connor, Ryan, Caitlyn, Sadie, Maddox, Sarah, Joseph, Ethan, Addalaide, Madi, Bethany, and Cassie.
A private family graveside service will be held at the family cemetery to honor Jim's life and legacy.
