Mr. James Early Hagar, Jr. Age 88, of Nashville, TN passed away, November 5, 2014.
James was born February 9, 1926 in Nashville, TN to parents James Early Hagar, Sr. and Bessie Ellison Hagar.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Early and Bessie Hagar; sister, Juanita Skeggs; brother, Ellison Hagar.
He is survived by his wife Lois Matthews Hagar; sons, Lynn (Rhonda) Hagar, Cliff (Emmie) Hagar, daughter, Claudia Lankford; brother, Ronnie (Judy) Hagar; sister, Donna Gayle Allen; grandchildren, Jessica (Adam) Taylor, Eric Hagar, Jackie (David) Fielder, Martin Hagar, Shelby Lankford, Kelsey Lankford; three great-grandchildren.
James was a WWII veteran, serving in the U.S. Marine Corp. He worked at the U.S. Postal Service for 41 years and served as Deacon at Charlotte Avenue Church of Christ for many years.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 8th at West Harpeth Funeral Home with Bro. Darrell Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park with Eric Hagar, Martin Hagar, Doug Hagar, Roy Skeggs, Scott Hagar and David Nickens serving as pallbearers.
Visitation Friday, November 7th from 3 pm until 8:00 pm and one hour prior to service on Saturday.
The family extends a special thank you for the care given to James by Dr. Harrell and Dr. Christenberry for many years.
