Staff Sergeant James Andrews Maum, age 27, a Civil Affairs Officer in the U. S. Army, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2016. He was born on December 21, 1988.. He was preceded in Death by his maternal grandfather, Harold James Hollis; his paternal grandparents, James and Joyce Maum of Crossett AR; and an uncle Tony Maum.

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Ann Maum of San Antonio, TX; 1 daughter, Cadence Diamond, age 8; 2 sons, Mason Alexander, age 5, and Michael Anthony, age 14 months; his mother Charlotte Margolis (Michael) of Nashville, TN; his father Joseph Maum of CA; a sister, Hallie Maum (Alex Leek) of White Bluff, TN; a brother, Josh Maum (Ashlee Judkins) of Nashville, TN; his maternal grandmother, Ilene Hollis of Crossett, AR; 2 uncles, John Dye of Crossett, AR, and Mark Maum of CA ; 2 aunts Rose Taylor of Crossett, AR, and Brenda Conville of AR; 1 niece; 3 nephews; and a host of other relatives.

Unendingly I mourn my precious son
Too early yet this earthly home he left,
Perfidious sleep confounded nature's order
To leave his loves perpetually bereft.

How treacherous death does steal on youth's exuberance,
To wreak such havoc from the ecstasy of life,
Where once was only joy and future promise
Tormented hearts endure eternal strife.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 4pm to 8pm at West Harpeth Funeral Home in Nashville with services on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 10am at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 7931 McCrory Lane, Nashville, TN 37221.
