Jeanne Patricia Bell Fili was born on November 17, 1935 in New Rochelle, NY. Jeanne was a pioneer in many ways. She married into an Italian family and her cooking rivaled any native Italian grandmother. While studying nursing at Bellevue Hospital in New York City, she met her husband of 64 years. She loved her career as a Nurse. She also was a pioneer in moving to Newfoundland, Canada when her husband was stationed at the Argentia Naval Base.
Jeanne worked with her husband at their dental practice as an Assistant and Business Manager. She had many passions in life, such as sailing, sewing, Community Emergency Response Team and volunteering at The Ringling Museum. One of Jeanne’s biggest accomplishments was raising three boys who all became Dentists, as well as her granddaughter Alexandra. She also amazed the entire family as being the only one who could complete The NY Times crossword puzzle. Jeanne was loved by many.
Jeanne was preceded by death by her devoted husband, Dr. Saverio Fili. She is survived by her sons, Dr. Mark Fili, Dr. Robert Fili, Dr. James Fili, their respective spouses, Dr. Cary Fili, Steven Scialo, Oksana Fili, her beloved grandchildren, Matthew Fili (Kristen Fili) and Dr. Alexandra Bissonette (Matthew Bissonette) and her great grandchildren, Ella Mae Fili and Riley Bell Bissonette, all residing in the Nashville area.
A gathering of family and friends will be at West Harpeth Funeral Home, 6962 Charlotte Pike, Nashville, TN on Saturday, December 9, 2023, between the hours of 10am and 12pm.
