Darrel Jeffrey Ytzen, ‘Jeff' - Age 61, returned to his heavenly home on June 20, 2016, after a six month battle with cancer. Born on August 3, 1954, in Columbia, TN, to Darrel and Martha Ytzen; Martha passed from childbirth complications. He graduated from Columbia State Community College and worked for Sherwin Williams for 15 years. He was an active member and served as a Deacon of Forest Hills Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee, and also supported several local charities.

He was a father who always involved himself in every detail of his children's lives and supported, respected and loved his wife unconditionally. He was a man of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ's love and the beauty and peace that would await him after his passing. His giving spirit touched many lives. His family and friends will remember most his love for the Lord and great sense of humor.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Lynda; his daughters, Dana Hargis and Holly Kniery and their spouses; stepchildren, LeeAnna Melton, Katherine Sutherland, and David Adams; his mother, Nancy; sister, Lea Ann Braswell; brother, Scott; three nieces, two nephews, and eight grandchildren: Logan, Jake, Kaylin, Tyler, Millie, Marlie, Phoebe, and Samuel.

Visitation will take place at noon on June 23, 2016, at Forest Hills Baptist Church with funeral service following at 1pm. Pastor Sam Boyd will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jeff's life. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
