Jennifer Suzanne Kemp
9/24/1962 to 8/13/2016
Jennifer was born on September 24th of 1962 to Barbara Ann and William Abbott Kemp in Nashville, TN. At the time of Jenni's birth, there were already three "little Kemps" at home, anxiously awaiting her arrival. John F Kennedy was President and the song "Sherry", by The Four Seasons was top of the charts. In the month that followed, "Monster Mash" was released as a Single by Bobby "Boris" Pickett and the Crypt-Kickers This would become one of Jenni's favorite songs. She performed an animated dance/skit to this music, in a talent show, as her last hurrah from Elementary to Junior High School at St. Bernard Academy. Jenni finished high school there and went on for a short time to University of TN at Knoxville. She returned to Nashville to finish her last 3 years, and graduated from Belmont College.
With unclipped wings, she drove across the country to join her oldest sister in Boise Idaho. She adored skiing and the town of Boise. She soon found work as a "special projects coordinator" at Bogus Basin, a ski resort near by. She adopted a dog friend named Kia, who became her constant companion. Jenni loved as her very own child. Sadly Kia passed away on the long trek back to Nashville in the year 2000. It was not long after that, in Nashville, that she adopted another dog-child. She named him Idaho in remembrance of the treasured time she lived there. Jenni lived life to the fullest and on her own terms. Friends will always remember her kindness, her eager, helping hand, and how she made them laugh when times were hard. Family will cherish those stories, as well as, happy childhood memories, like "The Monster Mash". Jenni's time with us was cut too soon, but those of us who knew her, are blessed by the time we had together. Jennifer was preceded in death by her mother and father, Barbara Ann and William Abbott Kemp. She has left behind one brother, David Abbott Kemp, (children, Charlie, and Will), two sisters, Barbara Natalie Pinkerton, (husband Patrick, children, Abbott, David, and Patrick) and Mary Kemp Flora, (children, Marshall, Colin, and Natalie); and many close friends.
