Jerry Lee Parker, age 80 of Nashville, passed away unexpectedly on April 1, 2019 at St. Thomas Hospital-West from complications associated with heart surgery. He is the son of the late John and Sara Parker, and brother of the late McClellan Parker Davis.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda Moss Parker, daughter Jennie Lee Parker Miller (Clarence), grandsons, Isaac Hayden Miller and Alex Avery Miller, granddaughter, Heidi Lee Miller, sister Shirley Parker Lopehandia (Frank), and his loving Yorkie, Peanut. For more than 40 years Jerry worked in construction, having worked as his father's helper growing up.
He loved carpentry and enjoyed fulfilling special requests from his family, especially his daughter. He worked on many construction projects, both private and commercial prior to his employment with the State of Tennessee, Department of Correction where he retired in 1998. He served in the US Army, 101st Airborne and was discharged in 1964. A 32nd degree Mason, he was a member of Observance Lodge #686. His hobbies were golf, shooting, reading and fishing. He always enjoyed his deep sea fishing trips in Panama City Beach, Florida. He loved reading books and watching sports on TV, especially UT football and basketball.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday, April 6th from 10:00am until 11:00am at West Harpeth Funeral Home on Charlotte Pike. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00am.
