Mr. Joe Siemer, age 73, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at TriStar Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, TN. He was born in Chicago, IL on February 20, 1945 to the late Ollie Otto Siemer and Josephine Lomax Exum.
Joe is preceded in death by his loving wife of 24 years, Judy Binkley Siemer.
Joe is survived by his daughter Vickie Harris(Jimmy); grandchildren, Hallie Wolfe and Dylan Cole Harris; and two sisters, Billie Clydene Lopez(Paul) and Mary Ann Hesson(Jimmy). He is also survived by six nieces and nephews, Rodney Johnson, Jimmy Hesson Jr., Julie Hesson Strickland, Shane Dunn, Nikki Stolar, and Josh Biggs.
Joe Proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1964 through 1968, stationed in Spain. After his service he started with Bellsouth Telecommunications where he was a Service Tech for 34 years. In his younger days, Joe enjoyed going white water rafting which went along with his love of traveling. In fact, Joe has been to 27 U.S. states. He also enjoyed coaching girls softball and other outdoor activities such as, camping, fishing and canoeing. Joe also had a passion for woodworking, which he carried with him long after retirement.
A Life Celebration will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 10:30am in the chapel of West Harpeth Funeral Home in Nashville. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2018 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm and again on Monday from 9:30am until the time of service. Entombment will follow military honors at Harpeth Hills Cemetery in Nashville.
