Joe T. Swafford

Joe T. Swafford of Nashville, TN, passed away on July 26, 2023, at the age of 84. He was born on May 5, 1939, to J. Tom and Virginia Elnora Swafford. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, traveling and hunting in his spare time. He was a long-time member of Hillsborough Presbyterian Church and was involved in the Masons, the Shriners, and the Moose Lodge. He graduated high school from Bledsoe County High School.

Joe is preceded in death by his loving wife, Christine (Putman) Swafford; Parents, J. Tom and Virginia Elnora Swafford; Brothers, Robert B. (Bob) Swafford and Dion Swafford; and beloved little dog, Rudy.

He is survived by siblings, James W. Swafford and Margaret Ann Dalton; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at West Harpeth funeral home on August 2, 2023, from 12-1pm, with a service following at 1pm. Burial will be at Harpeth Hills Memorial Gardens on the same day, following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Lexington, Kentucky, in Joe’s honor.
