PIPER, John Alexander Jr., – Age 86 years, went to be with the lord on June 25, 2011. He served in the U.S. Army during the WWII as a proud veteran of our Arm Services where he received 3 purple hearts. For 40 years he coached basketball, softball, and baseball in the city of Nashville. Preceded in death by wife, Frances H. Kizer Piper; son, Donald W. Piper. Survived by wife, Mildred Tucker Piper, of Dickson, TN; sister, Mildred Chenault, of Nashville; sons, Roger A. Vaughn Piper, and Danny L. Beth Piper; grandchildren, Melissa Salazar, Roger A. Piper, Jr., and April M. Piper; great grandchildren, Deanna and Erika Salazar. Life Celebration Services will be on Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at 2pm, at the West Harpeth Funeral Home with Brother Howard Wingo officiating. Interment at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be on Monday from 2-8pm, and on Tuesday from 10am until service the service time at West Harpeth Funeral Home
