Katharine J. Dougan of Nashville, TN, passed away on January 3, 2021 at the age of 95.

Survived by her son William S. Dougan and daughter Katharine Jane Dougan D.C., (Daniel Borgers) and grandchildren Andrew Dougan (Ashley) and Jeff Dougan, great-grandchildren Charlie, Abbie, and Bailey Dougan; Kathie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Col. Wm. Page Dougan USAF (her WW2 Flying Tiger pen pal), her son Robert P. Dougan, M.D. (Molly) and her parents Robert and Bess Pitner Jefferies.

Born before the Great Depression in Ripley, Mississippi, an only child, a young ‘Bessie Katharine' made friends easily. She was outgoing, a true Southern Belle and her witty quips and gracious personality easily charmed people. She attended The ‘W', MSCW or Mississippi State College for Women. She was very vivacious, a pistol and truly a hoot to be around. She told the most memorable stories which made people laugh and feel at ease.

Kathie left a legacy of service, outreach and leadership in prayer and study groups. She was a charter member of St. David's Mary and Martha of Bethany Chapter of the Episcopal Order of the Daughters of the King, which focused on prayer. She also helped begin a Monday Morning Bible Study which has continued for 20 years. She used her flower arranging skills, which she learned in Japan, with assisting the Flower Guild. Kathie and her late husband, Page, began service to the community and church when they began St. David's partnership with Room in the Inn in the ‘70's. Kathie lit up the room wherever she went always making sure that everyone felt welcomed and cherished. Her funny stories have been told and retold among her friends. She loved her family, church and friends, flower arranging, cooking, entertaining, reading, traveling and cowboy movies. This beautiful, career Air Force wife, loving mother and Mississippi Belle of the finest order leaves behind a loved and honorable life.

She will be extremely missed by her family and friends, but never forgotten.
