Stinson, Lola Rutland, age 99, of Nashville passed away on November 20, 2019, preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Paul Thomas Stinson, her parents Millard and Alma Rutland, brothers James, Wallace, Fred, and Norman, and her sisters Evelyn Hovater and Alma McWilliams, all of Tuscumbia, AL. She is survived by her children: Paul (Judy) Stinson , Harry (Sara Elizabeth Hooker) Stinson and Sara Stinson of Nashville; grandchildren: Tommy (Celeste) of Berkeley, CA; Kathryn (David Quiram) of St. Louis, MO; Dorian (Jamie) Hanna; Neil (Lauren) Stinson; and Will Stinson of Nashville. Great-grandchildren: Elisa, Nora, Adeline, Declan, Charlie, Jim, Eliza and Frankie and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Stinson was born in Cherokee, AL, graduated as salutatorian from Cherokee Vocational High School, attended Larimore Business College in Florence, AL and retired after 25 years service with the, Office of Counsel, Nashville District US Army Corps of Engineers. She was a long-time member of Otter Creek Church of Christ in Brentwood.
Visitation will be on November 24, 2019 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at West Harpeth Funeral Home and on Monday, November 25, 2019 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Otter Creek Church of Christ. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am at Otter Creek Church with burial in the Harpeth Hills Memorial Gardens. West Harpeth Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to AGAPE, 4555 Trousdale Drive, Nashville, TN 37204.
