LOUIS N. FARRINGER, JR. - Age 66, of Nashville, passed away suddenly May 17, 2016. Born September 15, 1949, in Nashville, he attended Percy Priest Elementary School, Riverside Military School and received his Bachelor's Degree in Insurance from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
Louis had a 43 year career in Nashville in the insurance industry starting with his father's agency in 1971, and retiring from BB&T Insurance Services in 2013. He was named independent Insuror of the Year for Tennessee in 1995.
Louis was a volunteer fireman and EMT with the Bellevue Fire Department for 12 years, member of the Bellevue Exchange Club and board member of the Exchange Club Family Center, volunteer for the American Red Cross, Cheekwood Botanical Gardens, Hands on Nashville, Habitat for Humanity and Room in the Inn.
He was an ordained deacon at Bellevue Presbyterian Church. He loved woodworking, crocheting baby blankets for everyone he knew and had taken up oil painting after his retirement.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis N. and Frances Farringer. Survived by his wife of 40 years, Cindy Epps Farringer; daughters, Jane Hershey and Lisa (David) Silver; five grandchildren, Kali Hasselbacher, John Robert Hershey, John Louis Hasselbacher, Morgan Hershey, and Riley Silver. Also survived by his sisters, Ann Belle, Lynn Pate and Sandy Farringer.
In lieu of flowers please send your donation to the Boy Scouts of America, the Exchange Family Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse or Bellevue Presbyterian Church.

The funeral service will be on Friday, May 20, 2016, at 11am, at the Bellevue Presbyterian Church with Pastor Kristi Shay Moore officiating. There will be a private family interment following the service.
Visitation with the family will be on Thursday from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, at West Harpeth Funeral Home and on Friday from 10:00am until the service hour at Bellevue Presbyterian Church.
