COLE, Margaret Briscoe- September 19, 1921 – to - July 2, 2013, Devoted to the health, happiness and well being of her family, Margaret Briscoe Cole was known by all for her generosity, consideration and a beauty of countenance that was exceeded only by the beauty of her grace, spirit and open heart. Born September 19, 1921 in Lafayette, Indiana, Margaret was the apple of William G Cole, Jr's eye from the first moment he saw her descending a staircase in 1942. Margie and Bill were happily married for sixty-six years until Bill preceded her in leaving this worldly plane in 2008. The newlywed couple began their home life together in Lafayette where their first child, Connie, was born. As Bill's engineering career took them to Berea, Ohio, a second child, Billy, was born. Here in Berea, Margie made one her many community and artistic oriented gestures as she was instrumental in founding Berea's Little Theater. Soon Bill was offered the opportunity to head Ferro Fiber Glass's new manufacturing division in Nashville, so the young couple pulled up stakes again and moved to Nashville where Chase was born and Margie and Bill grew roots in the community that lasted their lifetimes. Known by her friends and the companions of all of her children for being a great listener and a trusted confidante, Margie never hesitated to give her full attention to their concerns. Even today it is not rare for one of these friends to discuss with a member of the family the positive impact that Mrs. Cole's advice had made on them during these kitchen table discussions. Margie was active in many community organizations and often hostess to numerous club meetings at her home on Jocelyn Hollow Road. Whenever these groups met, the good natured conversation and laughter among these dear friends was a joy to experience for anyone near enough to do so. As a dedicated and committed member of St Henry Catholic Church, Margie's every breath and step was taken in earnest devotion to the teachings of Jesus Christ and the love, understanding and compassion of His message. Now as she rests amidst the Lord's presence in heaven with Bill, Margie presently resides in the only space that she would prefer to that of being with her beloved family that loves her so much. And with this we know that she is in peace. The family would like to acknowledge the selfless love and total dedication to Margaret that Ms LouElla Bass has tenderly given her for nearly a decade. Ms Delores Crawford, Ms Renee Gooch and Ms Vicki Mason also deserve special thanks from the family for the gentleness of their spirit in their care for Margaret. The family is also most grateful to the wonderful staff of the Richland Place retirement community for looking after Margaret in these last years, in particular the wonderful nurses on the 4th floor of the Assisted Living wing. Also, the family gratefully acknowledges the comprehensive and gentle care that Jennifer Kirkup and the entire staff of Alive Hospice extended to Margaret in these last weeks. The services that they administered to Margaret and the family cannot be overstated. Mrs. Cole is survived by her daughter Constance Cole Goodbread Mike; sons William G Cole, III Gwen and John Charles Cole; three grandchildren Charles William Goodbread Michelle, Amanda Goodbread Nesz Mark and John Jacob Goodbread Sarah; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and a long list of dear close friends.
