Mrs. Margaret Gilliam, of Nashville, TN passed away September 14, 2020 at the age of 82 yrs. Homemaker, designer, baker, and extraordinary cook .... But, always a Lady, first and foremost. She was the compassionate and supportive wife of Charles K. Gilliam, the love of her life, devoted to each other for 65 wonderful years, and a dedicated and nurturing "Mama" to everyone that came into her life She was the "glue" that kept the family together. Her grandchildren knew her to be the one person who had all the answers, from making costumes for church plays and Halloween, to growing beloved petunias right out of cracks in the concrete ... she knew how. She could lay tile and loved to paint. She was the designer, and her husband, Charles, the builder. Let it be known, though, that of all the things she loved, she absolutely hated worms on the concrete outside after a hard-fallen rain. Christmas was a favorite season as she would top off the Christmas feast by making everything everybody wanted. Each family member has something special in mind and she managed to cook that very thing that they loved. She will always be remembered for her Cheese Ball, Coconut Cake, Banana Pudding, and Chocolate Fudge Pie ... all made from scratch. Her love was in the details. In later years, the light of her (and Charles's) life was their precious "Dee", Debra Rose. She got them up and kept them going, and going, and going!
