PAGE, Marise Smith Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and servant of the Lord passed away peacefully in Nashville on December 3, 2013. Marise was also known as Smitty by friends and family. She was born in Columbia and raised in Mt Pleasant, Tennessee. She was valedictorian in high school; graduated Summa Cum Laude from Judson College in Marion, Alabama. As a wife of a naval officer, Marise dedicated her life as a Christian and enjoyed raising her family in various ports of call around the country. She loved the church and held various positions throughout the years as church secretary, organist, pianist, teacher, choir member and deacon. She also held various executive secretarial positions during her working years. She was a dedicated military wife who was devoted to her husband, family, church and country. She was active in sports in her youth including basketball and golf. She loved reading, playing bridge and trivia games. Her service to others throughout her life included delivering meals to those in need and reading to the blind. She handled her life challenges with the style and grace of southern belle and was loved by all. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 64 years, Commander William Polson Page (U.S. Navy retired), her mother Mary Belle "Mama Smith" Meadows, father William Edward "Bud" Smith, brother Edward Wray Smith and daughter-in-law, Barbara Jean Page. Smitty is survived by her three children, William Baxter Page; Vance Wray Page (Kim); Perri Lynn Page (Ken); ten grandchildren, Brian Lee Page of Hollywood, MD; Jennifer Page Stickney (Brett) of Pittsford, VT; Jonathan Michael Page (Jessica) of Mt. Juliet, TN; Jason Wray Page of Greenville, So Carolina; Jessica Kate Page Graef (Jeff) of Newport Beach, CA; Kindel Renae Page of Mascot, TN; Kori Rae Page of Mascot, TN; Kamrin Shea Page of Mascot, TN; Kinsey Lee Page of Mascot, TN; and Dana Michael Thompson of Nashville, TN; four great grandchildren Jack Diguiseppe of Pittsford, VT; Sophia Rose Diguiseppe of Pittsford, VT; Austin Michael Thompson of Nashville, TN; and Lilly Grace Page of Mt. Juliet, TN. A memorial service will be Saturday, December 7, 2013, at 2pm. Visitation will be Saturday from 12pm until the service time. Marise will be laid to rest along side her loving husband at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Pegram, Tennessee.
