MARY MCCLESKEY HINTON

Nashville, TN

Mary McCleskey Hinton, 90, passed away October 13, 2017. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of Samuel and Lottie McCleskey. Mary enjoyed working for many years as an elementary and middle school math and science teacher before retiring. She was an avid bridge player, reader, traveler and gardener. As an active member of St. David's Episcopal Church, she served on both the Flower and Altar Guilds and was a member of the weekly Bible Study.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Guy (Cotton) Hinton, her parents, her sister, Charlotte McCleskey Jones, and her brother Samuel McCleskey. She is survived by her loving family, including her children Cathy Hinton (David Livingston), Ginger Hinton, and Dan Hinton (Julie); her grandchildren Gabe and Mason Hinton; one great grandson, Jayden; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Services will be held at St. David's Episcopal Church in Nashville on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11:00am with visitation at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society in honor of her son, Dan Hinton or to St. David's Episcopal Church.
