RUSHING, Mary, age 63, of Nashville, born June 5, 1948; passed away October 30, 2011 after her fight with Cancer. Mary was a special woman and adored by many. She was blessed with a loving husband of 44 years, John. Her marriage to John was the happiest of blessings for both and they have built a strong Christian family with that love. John and Mary are true soul mates, fitting perfectly together like pieces of a puzzle designed by God. She was a wonderful mother to John Rushing II and Andrea Rushing Black. She provided them with unconditional love and support throughout their lives. She has five grandchildren Preston 16, Anderson, 13, & Isabella Rushing, 6, Makenzie, 5 & Maddox Black, 1. Mary was very involved in her family's lives. Saturdays were often filled with Soccer, Softball, Football, and Basketball games. She drove a Metro Nashville school bus for 30 years. She loved her job and was adored by her children and their families. She had a passion for camping and enjoyed that very much in her retirement. She was loved by many friends and will be missed tremendously. She loved celebrations and family gatherings, and often filled the house with charming scents from the kitchen. She was an amazing, strong woman that led a wonderful life blessed with love and laughter. She would have appreciated everyone coming together to celebrate her life. She is preceded in death by her dad, Howard Featherston. Survived by mother, Mary Helen Featherston; brother, Marlon Featherston Sherry.. The life celebration service will be at 11am, Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Interment at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation, Tuesday, 4-8 pm at HARPETH HILLS FUNERAL HOME 9090 Hwy 100 Nashville.
