Mattie Osborne Gentry passed away Friday, October 19, 2018. She was the beloved wife of Clayton for 63 years and a life-long member of the West Nashville Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she shared her musical talents, singing as a soloist and in a quartet she helped form while playing piano and organ for most of her adult life

She was born January 27, 1936 to parents William and Sadie Osborne and spent her life in Nashville and Franklin. She was a proud graduate of Cohn High School and attended Peabody University majoring in music. She worked for National Life Insurance for 26 years and for United Technologies as a systems analyst for many years after that.

She is survived by her loving husband, Clayton, sisters, Emma Phillips and Shannon Osborne and nieces, Kay (Nat) Huary and Ann Carol Phillips. She is also survived by long-time friend, Pat Maberry.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 24 from 5-7 pm at the West Harpeth Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be conducted by Rev. Rickey Page and Rev. Chris Warren at the West Nashville Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 11:00 am Thursday, October 25. Pall-bearers are: Wade Story, Jim Crowell, Paul Hyde, Chuck Smith, Donnie Clark, and Ronnie Anderson. Honorary pall-bearers are: Paul Knights of Honor Sunday School Class (Wanita Eller: Teacher), Paul Franklin, Jeff Smith, Bob Bell, Bobby Locke, Bill Mullis and Butch Maberry.
