Mayner Spears, age 91 of Bethpage passed away June 30, 2011. He was born on May 16, 1920 in Westmoreland, TN to Johnny and Carrie Spears. Mr. Spears was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Carrie Spears; wife, Allean Spears; sisters, Beatrice Graves and Ruby Durham; and brother, Gerald Spears. He is survived by his daughters, Jeanette Eugene Key of Adolphus, KY and Peggy William Key of Bethpage; sons, James Fay Spears of Portland, Donald Spears of White House, Leo Linda Spears of Gallatin and Cleo Shirley Spears of Gallatin; 12 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Christine Martin of Gallatin and Jean Joe Dickens of Nashville; brothers, Johnny Jean Spears, Jr. of Nashville and Cordell Bobbie Spears of Hendersonville; several nieces and nephews also survive. Active pallbearers will be Chuck Durham, Jamie Brooks, Danny Key, Michael Gober, Tommy Spears and Charles Anderson. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 1st from 5-9 p.m., Saturday, July 2nd from 10 a.m.-9 p.m., and Sunday, July 3rd from 12-1 p.m. all at Crestview Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, July 3rd at 2:00 p.m. from the New Hope Church, 1599 Highway 52, Westmoreland with Bro. Johnny Carver and Bro. Leon Graves officiating.
