Michael Halterman, 39, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, April 7th, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Socorro Bonn; grandfather, Everett Halterman; and uncle, David Halterman.

Michael is survived by his mother, Frances Bonn; father, Michael Halterman Sr.; his two sisters, Heather Wharton and her husband Ben, and Sarah Masters and her husband Jeff; his brother, Corey Halterman and his wife Amber; his grandmother, Donna Halterman; his three nephews, Colton Wharton, Mason Masters, and Ethan Wharton; as well as numerous extended family members, close friends, and his proudest endeavor—his business and only child—Voyage Funding.

Michael was truly one of one—an irreplaceable soul whose presence could light up any room the moment he walked in. There was an ease about him, a natural warmth that made people feel comfortable, seen, and valued. Whether you knew him for a lifetime or had just met him, he had a way of making you feel like an old friend.

Even as a child, Michael was an old soul. He was a quick learner with a wisdom that far exceeded his years. From early on, he became a pillar of his family—offering support, strength, and guidance in a way that came naturally to him. Regardless of his age, he was always a leader, a grounding force, and a guiding light for those he loved.

Michael’s sense of humor was one of his most unforgettable traits. His wit was sharp, his timing impeccable, and his laugh—absolutely infectious. He was always cutting up, finding joy in the moment, and spreading that joy to others. His smile could disarm the toughest days. Being around Michael meant being reminded that nothing in life was too hard to overcome—and to always take time to laugh at ourselves along the way.

He was deeply loved by his parents, cherished by his sisters and brother, and adored by his nephews—who counted him among their favorite people in the world. He had a gift for making others feel safe, heard, and deeply cared for.

Michael’s ambition was matched only by his heart—he poured himself into everything he did, striving not just for success, but for meaning and impact. He built his business with tireless dedication, embodying a rare combination of vision, generosity, and grit.

To many, he was a rock—a steady, loyal, and unwavering presence. His generosity knew no bounds, and the loyalty he showed to those he cared about changed lives. Michael lived fully, gave freely, and loved deeply. His legacy will endure not only in the memories we share, but in the countless lives he touched with his spirit, strength, and kindness.

He will be missed beyond words.
