Mildred Baker Scott, 94, of Nashville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 2, 2022. She was born in Hodges, Alabama on December 23, 1927 to the late George W. and Verdie Sullivan Baker. Mrs. Scott was a past member of Calvary Baptist and Westwood Baptist. She worked at the Baptist Sunday School Board in Nashville. Mildred enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, RJ; and siblings, Hazel (J.C.) Hale, Minerva (Arthur) Osborne, Mary (C.G.) Lawler, G.W. (Wilma) Baker, Jr., Daniel (Velma) Baker, John (Mavianea) Baker, and Kenneth Baker.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Gary (Angela) Scott; granddaughter, Kristin (Chad) Garrett; and great-granddaughters, Riley and Ava Garrett.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at West Harpeth Funeral Home located at 6962 Charlotte Pike in Nashville. A funeral celebrating Mildred’s life will begin at 11:00AM. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in the Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
