Murry Brooks LeStourgeon

Murry B LeStourgeon passed away on November 13, 2023, in Nashville, Tennessee at the VA Vanderbilt Hospital after a recent diagnosis of lung cancer.

He was born in San Antonio, Texas but his heart was always in the Hill Country of Texas. He graduated from the Texas Military Academy and attended S. F. Austin College.

Murry worked for the tool and saw business in Texas for several years. He then began his career with the USAF earning rapid promotions. He was a tactical air crew loadmaster and an instructor while in the USAF. His missions from Little Rock Air Force Base in Arkansas were worldwide. After the Air Force, Murry taught air cargo and tactical air drop procedures for the Royal Saudi Air Force. Returning to the US he earned his A and P License and serviced airframes in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. When he moved to Hickman County, Tennessee he became self-employed in the construction and home remodeling business.

While in Hickman County he also became interested in local theater. Murry enjoyed acting in various productions over a period of several years.

Murry’s greatest loves were God, family, and service to his country. He was a dedicated church member, and his faith was unwavering.

Murry is survived by his sister Dana LeStourgeon and brothers Wallace (Carol) and Dale (Cheryl). He is also survived by his nephew Russell LeStourgeon and niece Lauren LeStourgeon (Richard). Murry was preceded in death by his mother and father Russ and Zethyl LeStourgeon and his niece Lisa Boston.

A graveside service will be held at the Nashville National Cemetery(1420 Gallatin Pike S, Madison TN 37115) at 1PM on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.
